I's One Year Session ~ Oregon City Baby Photographer

This little darling was such a cutie! Her mamma is a returning client who came to me to get all five of her kid's portraits taken last summer.

That's her in the middle, all sober-like:


It was much too cold to take her pictures outdoors this time, so we set up this backdrop in her mamma's dining room. Gorgeous wood flooring + a simple backdrop + a large, bright window + a reflector = perfect indoor portraits! It's so simple for me to come to a client's home and set up an area like this for an in-home session. It's much easier and convenient for clients with babies or newborns for me to come to them, rather than making them pack up all their things and drive somewhere else.

This little cutie was such a character with so many smiles - it's not every day I get a one-year-old who is as happy or cooperative as she was!

R's 6 month Session ~ Oregon City Baby Photographer

Here at Raining September Photography we specialize in outdoor portraits with natural light. Because of this, winter sometimes poses a challenge for our younger subjects. No 6-month-old should be outside for 2+ hours when it's in the 30's! So for our younger subjects we sometimes have to take the session indoors when it's too cold outside. This works best if we have a large window to work with so we can still harness that beautiful natural light we are so accustomed to.

Little R's mommy had some great wardrobe changes and backgrounds for us to use, along with her beautiful kitchen table to set everything up on. And after a little editing magic, you'd never know, with how awesome these turned out, that they were taken in the comfort of her kitchen, and not a big, fancy studio!

First Newborn Session ~ Oregon City Newborn Photographer

Here at Raining September Photography, we are so happy to announce our first newborn session AND first indoor session! It was so fun! Mommy brought lots of props and interesting ideas for us to try and we had a blast posing little G in different baskets and blankets with different backdrops and props.

Little G was such a sweet, adorable baby and we loved working with him and his mommy. What a great first experience it was - for everyone!

Baby Alyssa's 7 Month Sesh ~ Oregon City Baby Photographer

It's always fun to have returning clients, especially when they are as darling as this lovely lady. Baby Alyssa just turned 7 months, so it's been awhile since we've last seen her for her 4 month session, but oh how the time has flown by. It seems just yesterday she was the little baby sleeping in a basket, wearing a hand-crocheted Minnie Mouse outfit. Now she's siting up and crawling. I'm so glad I get to be her photographer for her 7 month session!

My usual style of shooting is in outdoor settings with natural light, but it's January - much too cold and rainy for anyone to be outside for too long. So we decided to take the whole session indoors - a first for me. Luckily for us, baby Alyssa's room has a huge triple panel glass patio door spanning one wall, so we were able to utilize that great source of natural light during the sesh. And oh how I love how the shots turned out! She had the best outfit changes - my personal fave from the day: the adorable pink tutu!
